Title: Next stop: Bhutan
Category: happy
Blog Entry: My parents and I will be traveling to Bhutan next week. I haven't traveled to any Asian destination eversince, that is why I am so excited to visit this “landlocked nation” that is situated at the easter end of the Himalaya Mountains and is bordered to the south, east and west by the Republic of China, according to a history book I just read an hour ago. We will be landing on Paro, where its international airport is located, and from there our family will go and stay at Mongar, touted as the eastern commercial hub of Bhutan. The other places we are going to visit are Phuentsholing, Bhutan's commercial hub; Punakha, which used to be the old capital; Samdrup Jongkar; Thimpu, which is the largest city and now the capital of Bhutan; Trashigang, known as the most populous district; and the Trongsa, located in central Bhutan. Bhutan is also deemed as a paradise of trekkers and a place that some environmentalists want to visit since 72 percent of this nation is still covered with forests! And I could only surmise that it is indeed the home to one-of-a-kind, if not endangered, flora and fauna. What a beautiful topic to consider upon writing an essay paper for my creative writing class. I think I am lucky to tour Bhutan, that is slowly opening its doors to the world in a fine balance with regard to its ancient culture and traditions. I can't wait to see this place so soon, I'm sure my parents and I will have an adventure like no other.
