Ok, here is my New Year’s Resolution list for 2009:

         ·            Spend more time with family and friends

         ·            Help others more

         ·            Enjoy life more

         ·            Get out of debt

         ·            Lose some weight (at least 4 ½ kg)

The last one on this list will be the hardest to accomplish!

Let’s share some Holiday Recipes!

Here is one to get it started.  It’s a hot drink that you might want to make for a New Year’s Eve Party or on a cold, rainy night.

APPLE CIDER PUNCH

INGREDIENTS

    • 12 cups (2.83 liters) apple cider (plain apple juice might work just as well)
    • 3 cinnamon sticks
    • 4 whole cloves
    • 3 strips of an orange peel, removed with a vegetable peeler
    • Serve with: orange slices, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks (optional)

PREPARATION

1. In a large pot, bring cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange peel to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 25 to 35 minutes.

2. Line a strainer with a porous cloth and set over a large clean saucepan. Strain cider mixture into pan and keep warm.

3. When ready, (optional) serve with ½ an orange slice, a whole clove, & cinnamon stick in each cup of punch.  Serves about 12 people.
