Double Trouble _Article by Some one..

Dorji and Dema were childhood friends. Brought up in the same society, they played together, ate together and shared their feelings with one other but only platonically. Because of their bonds of friendship, their parents had got them engaged but without their knowledge. Now it so happened that Dema was disqualified for higher studies after class 12 and had to go outside the country. It was, of course, a painful departure, for she had to leave Dorji, her close friend, behind. Dorji was in College in his first year where he’d made many new friends. But his first sight of Dechen, a classmate, touched his heart and stirred his soul. Dechen’s starry eyes, rosy cheeks and soft voice struck at his very core. Days passed with his eyes constantly upon her but the innocent girl, Dechen, hadn’t a clue she was the apple of Dorji’s eye. The moment came when he couldn’t hold his own, so he went up to her and confessed his crazy love for her. Dechen was not a stonehearted girl to reject him out of hand. Moreover, she too rather fancied him herself and was happy to hear his words. Thereafter, their knot of love was so tight that if one of them was away, the other could not bear the absence. However, life is not always a bed of roses, they enjoyed a loving relationship. The more they stayed together, the stronger their love grew. Every evening, they used to take a walk, sit together and whisper sweet nothings. Nonetheless, Dorji kept in touch with his childhood friend, Dema, without realising that she too loved him very much. Yet she did not confide her feelings in him at all. Nor did Dorji share with her his newfound and ongoing affair with Dechen. Then one day Dema came home on vacation. Dorji and she were happy to meet again, especially Dema, who had such a crush on him. Due to her arrival, he missed two evening walks with Dechen, who, on the other hand, waited faithfully for him but in vain. Her heart ached and she called him, asking why he stood her up. But he made some excuse about the heavy rain and other silly reasons though he felt sorry for lying and hurting her. Now Dorji and Dema had been all the while unknowingly engaged. When their parents decided to declare it to the world, neither of them knew what to say and stared at each other. Dorji thought about Dechen. He didn’t want to betray her but neither did he want to break his friendship with Dema. He decided to spill out the truth about his relation with Dechen. It was more convincing when there was a call from Dechen, asking him to come to the bus station immediately. Poor Dema! Her heart broke into pieces. Now Dechen had to go to Thimphu immediately with her uncle and aunt, who were taking her to marry their only son, but without informing her of their nuptial plans. Though it was raining heavily, Dorji rushed towards the bus station. But when he arrived, Dechen was already on the bus. She was telling him that she had to go to Thimphu when her uncle interrupted saying bluntly that she would never come back as the bus left. Without a word, Dorji stood in the rain, in his hurriedly worn raincoat, waving as the rain that coursed down his cheek, mingling with his tears.

Sometimes You Just Have To Let Go --read it fully and you will learn something.

H  and in hand, a crisp fresh breeze caressing their faces, they took a walk down Central Park. She was pretty. Today, she had her hair tied on the nape of her neck, with a few strands loosely falling over her face. With his hair clean cut and freshly shaven, he was of whom anyone would say, “Hotdamn—that’s a man!”

Anyone looking at them would see at a glance they were a couple of turtle-doves. They looked sweet and adorable as they sat down on the bench taking a breather. Her head rested on his shoulder, with his strong arm warmly held her close. They murmured sweet nothings to each other ...
If only they knew what was going on in each other’s minds. An air of awkwardness hung around them. She felt guilty, not being able to stop thinking about Lhawang. Lhawang was a year senior to her. When she first came to the college, it was Lhawang who helped her. In a foreign land, having someone like him to help her find her feet, she considered herself lucky. Inseparables, they ate together, met during the breaks and, since both commuted to and fro, went home together. With the passage of time, they became more than friends. Whenever she saw Lhawang, a thrill ran down her spine. She knew that meant something as it had never happened with Norbu. She couldn’t stop thinking about Lhawang, wondering what he was up to. She knew it was wrong but she never told Lhawang about Norbu, neither did he ask her about her past. Lhawang, unaware of the other man in her life, was the happiest guy alive. He simply knew for sure that Euden’s love for him was no less than how he felt for her. Every night she prayed for courage, so that she could clear up the whole mess before it became too dirty. Norbu and Euden had been together for almost a year. Norbu was sent to California while she remained in New York. Although distant, they felt happy to be on the same landmass. Norbu loved Euden madly. And did he but. He was head over heels about her. As for Euden: well, she did like him but Norbu could never make her feel the way Lhawang did. She realized Norbu was not for her. She knew she had to do something, but what? The phone calls between them dwindled; she did not say much and Norbu grew more and more concerned. Then came the holes. Norbu had come to spend them with Euden and Euden, knowing that it was now or never, asked him to meet her in Central Park as she had something important to say. Norbu now waits patiently for her to speak. She doesn’t want to hurt Norbu but she has to do it. She faces him, feeling the hot tears about to flow. “What is it, Euden? It seems something’s really wrong?” asks Norbu. “I’m sorry, really sorry, but I think we’re not right for each other. I have ... I’ve met someone I love.” Her words hit Norbu like darts. He froze. He wanted to say. “Please don’t go … I can’t live without you ... what have I done wrong?” He wants to say so many things but nothing comes out. No remonstrations issue from his lips. Euden, turns away and sobs. He rests his head in hand and thinks. All his dreams ... dreams he wanted to share with her, have come to a cul de sac. “I know how you must be feeling,” she went on. “I didn’t want to hurt you but I just can’t go on this way with you. It’s so wrong. I may be with you but my heart and mind are with Lhawang. Please forgive me, if you ever can.” Norbu pulled her near held her close and said, “You know how much I love you, my dear, but no one has the power to make anybody love them in return. If I hold you back, I m just gonna hurt you. This person, whoever he is, is sure lucky to have you love him. Today may be our last time together but do not ever forget that if you ever want a shoulder to cry on or someone to share your joys with you, I will always be there. You will remain a precious part of me, a memory that can never be erased.” So saying, he gave her his last kiss and walked away. With a heavy heart, tears filling his eyes, he left behind the one person he had loved most in the world. Love can sometimes be so cruel. If only the game was fair...
